A peaceful retreat located in the heart of the Talamanca Mountains in Southern Pacific Costa Rica. Surrounded by gardens and natural habitat where birds fly over all day long, our lodge is a peaceful spot to spend a few days, a week or your entire vacation. With access to National Parks, hiking trails, and tours, Bosque del Tolomuco is the perfect choice.   

From Bosque del Tolomuco one can visit the beach within a short drive and explore Dominical and Ballena Marine National Park, take a trekking tour to Mount Chirripo, explore Las Quebradas Biological Reserve or Los Cusingos Bird Sanctuary in Dr. Skutch's Farm near San Isidro, and much more.

Come and visit and relax by the pool, read by the gardens, sit by the fireplace on cool evenings and enjoy a few of the wonderful sights and sounds that surround us.

Our Bosque (forest) offers a quiet envirnoment for birdwatching. We have numerous well maintained trails for easy hiking and birding along the way, Black Guans, Blue-crowned Motmots, Slate-throated Redstarts, Silver-thorated Tanagers, and even the uncommon Red-fronted Parrolets fly over the property almost everyday!

Come and experience the cool mountains of the Cloud Forest, located 14KM north of San Isidro El General, near La Hortensia at 1650 metres. We have a 40 hectare property with good hiking trails and great lodging with hot showers. 

You can reach us by car or bus. From San Isidro a public bus will cost approximately US$3. Our place is 14KM North on the Panamerican Highway, left side of the road, road to San Jose, one kilometer past Restaurante Vista del Valle. The entrance is identified by a large brown sign with yellow lettering.

If you are travelling from San Jose, then you should head South on the Panamerican Highway, on kilometer 118 just before you arrive to San Isidro de El General you will find our place on the right side of the road, look for our sign as shown below. If you are taking a public bus, go to MUSOC Bus Station in San Jose, it is easier to just take a taxi there, there are buses every hour from 5:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., the bus ride will take approximately 2.5 hours, remember to tell the driver you are getting off at Bosque del Tolomuco. Bus ticket is US$3
